SMITH, ARK -- A phone call to Fort Smith's Mayor Ray Baker brought
the long-hoped-for news that Fort Smith has been selected by
the U.S. Marshals Service as the site for its U.S. Marshals
Service Museum.
A
jubilant steering committee, gathered at Fort Smith's city hall
offices, spread the word by phone calls late Thursday afternoon.
A press conference is set for 1 p.m. Friday at the North Rotunda
of the Fort Smith Convention Center.
