Authors in the Afternoon featuring Robert Parson

August 9, 2016
4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Fort Smith author Robert Parson will make a special appearance at the Main Library to promote and sign copies his first novel, The Corp. With corporate inversions, corporate “personhood,” difficult-to-trace offshore accounts, and other deception, large companies continue to strengthen their influence on national and global policy. Once the speculation of science fiction, the prospect of Multi-National Corporations as superpowers is becoming more possible. The Corp brings that possibility to life. Written by award-winning broadcast journalist Robert Parson, the novel envision how an energy company might declare itself as a sovereign, independent nation. From the boardroom to the battlefield, SupraGlobal Energy flexes its muscle with devastating effects on individuals and nations. In over 30 years as a broadcast journalist, Parson has relieved many awards for news writing, producing, and announcing from Associated Press, the Michigan Association of Broadcasters, and Scribe Media. The Corp is Parson’s first novel. He has previously written and produced the audio political comedy Ambassador Service, audio spy thriller Red Rover, and the award-winning horror movie Invasive Species. Copies of The Corp will be available for sale and signing at this open-house style event.
