The 29th annual TASTE of Fort Smith will be held on Tuesday, October 25 at the Fort Smith Convention Center. The TASTE will showcase the area’s finest food and beverage sampling from more than 45 vendors during its two sessions: Lunch, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; and Dinner, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 each and go on sale October 1, 2016. Tickets may be purchased from any Simmons Bank location; as well as, the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce and the Literacy Council of Western Arkansas. A TASTE ticket is needed for admission by adults and children, age 6 and older, per session. The TASTE historically draws more than 1700 attendees during the two sessions. This year’s goal is to raise more than $15,000 during the two, two-hour sessions. Recipients will include the Literacy Council of Western Arkansas and Crawford County Volunteers for Literacy. Additional donations will be made to the Fort Smith Public Library, Project Compassion, Maggie House and the Fort Smith Adult Education Childcare. Altrusa International Foundation of Fort Smith, AR, Inc., commonly known as the Altrusa Club of Fort Smith, will present this popular, social one-day event. The local Altrusans also work on a variety of service projects year-round to support and raise money for local charities and their causes. Members meet on the second and fourth Thursdays at noon at the Fort Smith Public Library, Main Branch. The TASTE of Fort Smith event is staged annually by Altrusa International Foundation of Fort Smith, AR, Inc., a 501-c-3 organization.
