Project Compassion will hold its Hearts of Gold open house in Fort Smith to continue its annual drive to collect donated gifts for nursing home residents. Donated gifts will be collected until Dec.15. 5News anchor Daren Bobb will emcee the event. The suggested shopping list for new items is clothing and sleepwear from sizes medium to 5X such as sweat shirts and pants, nightgowns and pajama sets, lounge pants, plain T-shirts (not white) and closed-heel house shoes. Blankets and lap throws are also requested. Drop off at the event or at the Project Compassion Office at St. Scholastica Center Room 114; all Simmons Bank locations or the Hampton Inn-Van Buren. Hearts of Gold gifts are given to residents of all area nursing homes to bring a smile, love and comfort at Christmas. United Way Community Partner.
