Shadow DayFebruary 10, 2017
Subiaco Academy, a Catholic, Benedictine boarding and day school for young men of all faiths, is hosting three spring Shadow Days for prospective students and their parents interested in the Academy’s college preparatory junior and senior high program. The events, scheduled on Fridays, February 10, March 10, and April 7, are open to boys in grades 6-10. Prospective boarders can arrive early and experience residential life by spending Thursday night before a Shadow Day in a college-like residence hall. Overnight accommodations for parents are provided in the guest facility on campus. Activities during the event include shadowing current students to class, campus tours, and the placement exam. Information sessions for parents with members of the administration and staff will be intermingled with social and recreational activities for all participants. The Shadow Days are free of charge. Established in 1887 by the Benedictine priests and brothers of Subiaco Abbey, the 130-year old Academy offers a challenging college preparatory curriculum for young men in grades seven through 12. The school strives to provide a well rounded program that includes the visual and performing arts, athletics, and activities such as Quiz Bowl, National Honor Society, jazz band and drama productions. Athletic teams compete with other schools statewide in football, basketball, track and field, baseball, tennis, soccer, and cross country. Subiaco Academy is located approximately 45 miles east of Fort Smith on Arkansas Highway 22 at 405 North Subiaco Avenue in the town of Subiaco.
