Pardi Gras

February 4, 2017
6:00 p.m.

Our annual fundraiser is re-imagined with a new name, a new venue and a new band! Join the Fort Smith Museum of History for a new winter fundraiser, Pardi Gras! The new version of our traditional Mardi Gras features the band Full House, a premiere horn band from Fayetteville, playing “rock and roll for the masses.” A great night of music and dancing is assured. Our new venue, the Shipley Baking Company at 52 South 7th, a Fort Smith downtown landmark, will be transformed into a unique party environment for the evening. The "pardi" begins at 6:00 pm with cocktails and the music of Don Bailey followed by a Cajun dinner, live auction and dancing to the music of Full House. Tickets are $100 per person. Tables for ten sell for $1,000. Dinner and drinks are included. To reserve a ticket or table please call 479-783-7841, send a check to 320 Rogers Avenue or online: www.fortsmithmuseum.org click “donate.” Thank you to our Krewe* sponsors: First National Bank, Mercy, ArcBest, Sparks Health. The Shipley Baking Company was established in 1921 by brothers B. H. "Harry" Shipley, Sr. and W. G. "Garvin" Shipley. The scent of baking bread was a familiar feature in downtown Fort Smith for over sixty years well remembered by many longtime residents. *Krewe-an organization that puts on a parade and/or ball for the Carnival season. The term is best known for its association with the New Orleans Mardi Gras.
