Roll it Along Thro' the Nation: From Slave to Citizen

This lecture by Michael Lasser traces the portrayal of African-Americans in songs from the time of Abolition and the Minstrel Shows to the return of African-Americans to Broadway in Eubie Blake and Moble Sissle’s Shuffle Along in 1921. Join us at RAM for an insightful look at this period in American history. General admission is always free. Lecture will be held Thursday, May 18, 6-8PM, free for members, $5 for non-members.
