IEP Boot Camp

8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

The Pervasive Parenting Center (C.P.R.C.) will host a day of education service training for parents and professionals. Speakers for the event will include Wanda Felty from the Center for Learning and Leadership, Shawna Kenne from the Oklahoma Department of Education, Deidra Edwards from the Oklahoma Parents Center, and Kayla Bower from the Oklahoma Disability Law Center. They will speak on topics including: working with schools to receive services for your children, understanding the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, IEP Basics, and understanding the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Law. Check-in will begin at 8 a.m., and the event will end at 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided for participants based on registration. There will also be a $50 family stipend available to parents who fill out a form prior to the conference. Registration forms are available online. Register by Monday, March 6. The Pervasive Parenting Center, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, was launched in 2014 to help families in eastern Oklahoma find resources available for people diagnosed with autism and other disabilities.
