World-Renowned Conservationist and Safari Guide

World-renowned conservationist, published author, 40,000-acre nature preserve owner, safari leader and international speaker, South African Joe Viljoen, will visit Fort Smith. He will discuss efforts in international conservation, his work in South Africa to breed and diversify the gene pool of large cats throughout Africa, his international efforts regarding the importance of caring for our environment for generations to come, and his joint commitment with the U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife. Joe has spent his entire life working with nature and his desire to spread awareness of our need to not only conserve our environment, but to work hard to share and educate people about this amazing world in which we live. Joe will also discuss his photography safaris throughout Africa sharing the geography, people, animals, birds and history of Africa. This event is free.
