Meet the Artist: Pam ErnstMay 21, 2017
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Meet artist Pam Ernst and learn more about her work at this open-house-style meet and greet event. The artist’s exhibit, “En Plein Air with Pam Ernst,” will be on display in the community room of the Main Library from May 15 – June 30. Pam’s true passion is to paint En-plein Aire (outdoors) capturing the light and special moments that we are given every day. Paintings in both pastels and watercolors will feature scenes from the Natural State and travels from across the country. Pam Ernst was born and raised in the country near Springfield, Missouri. Spending the majority of her childhood playing outside gave her a deep appreciation for Mother Nature and the beauty that is there to enjoy. Pam graduated from Nixa High School in 1988 and went on to receive her BBA from Columbia Southern University. After moving to the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas, Pam was given the opportunity to take a drawing class in 2001. At the end of her class the instructor suggested she give pastels a try, and the infatuation began. Pam is an active member of Artists of Northwest Arkansas, Plein-Aire Painters of the Ozarks, and the Ozark Pastel Society (former Board Member and Fall Show Chairperson). She won the People’s Choice Award in 2012 for her painting of a backlit fall tree entitled, “Just Try”. Come take a look; artwork is available for viewing all library hours when meetings are not being held in the Community Room.
