This a free day to celebrate the 12th Archaeology Day/39th Birthday Bash at the Spiro Mounds Archaeological Center, Oklahoma's only prehistoric, Native American, archaeological site open to the public. All day there will be an archaeologist to identify artifacts, flintknappers (stone tool makers) showing their skills, a spotlight on artist Chase Kahwinhut Earles who will display some of his Caddoan wares inspired by Spiro Mounds art and others. A guided tour will take place at 2 pm lead by archaeologist Dennis Peterson.
