Clayton House 4th AnnualJune 30, 2017
6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Put on your favorite summer evening party wear and head to the historic Clayton House for this 4th annual, unique fundraiser: “Sippin’ On 6th Street.” One of two annual events to boost the nonprofit historic house museum’s strength and preservation, this party features an exciting live auction of 10 sporting rifles and pistols, a bourbon tasting, and a Western frontier flair throughout. Lively table decorations, a hearty barbecue feast by 21 West End, a venerable “Prosecutor’s Punch” (plenty of non-alcholic beverages will flow as well), and live jazz with “Lizard in the Room” (the members also play in the UAFS Jazz Band) make this a great way to see and support the museum. Other exciting prizes will offered at live auction, as well. New this year: mechanical bull-riding! (Everyone will appreciate the inflatable landing!) Extra treats include cigars available from Winston’s Pipe & Cigar Emporium, and the event’s traditional “bourbon pull” that may land you a very special bottle to take home. A raffle of three firearms lets you get in on the action even if you can’t attend the party. The tickets for the chance to win one of two rifles or a pistol go for $5, or six tickets for $25. These can be purchased via the museum’s website, along with party reservations and sponsorships. The party ends with a veritable bang when the door prize of a Henry Lever Action .357 rifle is drawn for one lucky attendee. Purchase tickets now and look forward to a fun party for a great cause: the continued life of our region’s only Victorian-era home authentically restored and open to the public.
Admission: $50. Raffle tickets $5; need not be present to win.
