Ahimsa* Rescue Foundation (ARF), an all-volunteer 501(c)3 organization established in 2004 specializing in the rescue and placement of abused, unwanted and abandoned companion animals, and also recently opening their low-cost spay/neuter clinic, announces the11th Annual Saving Paws benefit. The benefit will feature an exciting live auction featuring a one-of-kind Blue Dog print by George Rodrigue. Guests can also bid on silent auction items. Golden Living will cater dinner while crowd-favorite Joey Williams wows with amazing magic acts. Whisky Menders, with her soulful, gravelly vocals, will play rock and roll and blues. Yearly, ARF adopts approximately 150 animals. All pets are spayed or neutered and receive any and all necessary medical care before being placed in carefully screened, approved homes. Once an animal passes through the adoption program, ARF is responsible for them for life. One hundred percent of the benefit proceeds will be used directly for the animals since ARF has no employees or paid staff. Volunteers are always needed. “Our mission is to prevent the needless suffering of animals and helping control the exorbitant costs of exploding animal surplus that has become a taxpayer’s burden,” said Morton. Tickets, which include food and drinks, are $50; tables (seating eight) are $500 with other sponsorships available.
