Authors in the Afternoon featuring Cate Grace

August 11, 2018
1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Author Cate Grace will make a special appearance at the Fort Smith Public Library to promote and sign copies her book Collateral Damage: the impacts of my mother’s mental illness on me. The book is the poignant, absorbing and thought-provoking true story of a child who grew up with a demanding and destructive intruder in her home: her mother’s mental illness. Compelling, insightful, and powerful, Collateral Damage is a valuable resource for anyone who knows, works with, or loves a child of parental mental illness: including grown-up children. Cate grew up on a farm in the Midwest. She obtained a BA cum laude from the University of Iowa, as well as a Juris Doctorate cum laude and a Certificate IV in facilitation, training and assessment. After practicing law for several years, she moved to Australia, where she worked in the public service and the non-profit sector, including public health. Her work in Australia focused on Aboriginal communities and disadvantaged populations. Cate recently returned to the Midwest, where she practices law, focusing on estate planning, guardianship and conservatorship, elder law, and emergency immigration law. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing at this open-house style event.

Admission: Free.
