Who: Swimmers of all agesWhat: The Creekmore Park Pool is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Cost to swim is $1 for ages 6 and under and $2 for ages 7 and older. Season passes are available. Admission to the splashpads ­­­­is free. 479-784-2368

Parrot Island Waterpark

Who: All ages
What: Opening day is May 24. Soon to offer the new aquatic attraction, FlowRider Double Surfing, the waterpark opens for the season with Caribbean Splash wave pool, Tiny Turtle Island, Toucan’s Cove activity pool, the Lazy River and the exciting body slides - Pineapple Plunge, Pelican Plunge, Tangerine Twist and Blue Macaw. The family-friendly park has a full-season schedule of special events such as evening and early swims and value days. Bookings are taken for birthday parties, group events and cabana rentals. There is a gift shop and snack concession on site, with dressing rooms and lockers.

Cost: $15 over 48 inches tall; $10 under. Ages 3 and younger are free. Adult non-swimmer is $5. Seniors $10. Military discount of 15 percent. Season passes for individuals and families available now.

Creekmore Express Train Rides 

Who: All ages
What: The legendary train at Creekmore Park will operate extended hours through the warm weather months. Rides are free, but donations are accepted.  

When: May 2-25 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday-Saturday

May 29-Sept. 1
10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday
1-6 p.m. Sunday

Sept. 7-Oct. 27

The Park at West End 

Who: All ages
What: The park offers rides on the Ferris Wheel and its vintage, hand-painted carousel, as well as a covered arcade for youth. Park admission is free; rides are $1.

What: Pre-registration is required for each daily event. More information and registration information will be posted on the Facebook page and website on May 20.

Aug. 8 
Catch n' Release Fishing
Who: Children of all ages
What: Bait will be provided to all participants. Take your own pole or one will be provided. Staff will assist with baiting of hooks and releasing of fish. A small snack and drink also will be provided.

Aug. 3: City Play Day
Who: This is an event for the entire family.
What: A variety of activities including Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course, Connect 4 Basketball, inflatable waterslide, Velcro Wall, Life Flight helicopter, Fort Smith Fire and Police Departments, Sebastian County Sheriff's Department, finger printing, area organizations and more. Hot dogs and drinks also will be provided.

June 4-July 31- Free Play Game Days
Who: All ages
When: Tuesdays and Wednesdays June 4-July 31
What: A variety of games will be setup for everyone to play or you can bring a game to play with others. There will be games/activities for citizens of all ages and abilities.
Where: Creekmore Park Community Center

Free Movies in the Park

Who: All ages
What: The Fort Smith Parks and Recreation’s “Movies in the Park” series will return this summer, giving visitors the chance to enjoy popular movies in one of the city’s scenic parks. Admission is free and all films start at dusk. Take blankets and lawn chairs.
