Nothing says summer more than some time outdoors, whether its spent splashing in the pool, riding the train or playing at the park.

Creekmore Pool
Who: All ages
What: Creekmore Park Pool is open each year Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Admission is $1 ages 6 and under and $2 for 7 and older. Season passes also are available. The Splashpad is open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. daily and is free.

Aug. 15-Sept. 6:

Fort Smith Tilles & Woodlawn Park Wading Pools
Who: Kids of all ages
What: The wading pools at Tilles and Woodlawn parks are open for those looking to cool down in the hot summer months. Admission is free.
When: June 6-Aug. 9 – Noon-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday
Where: Tilles Park – North 37th & Grand Avenue, Fort Smith Woodlawn Park – North 6th & S Streets, Fort Smith


Martin Luther King, Jr. Park Splashpad
Who: All ages
What: The splashpad/sprayground is open daily through Labor Day. Free.
When: 6 a.m. until dark daily
Where: Martin Luther King Jr. Park, Greenwood and North O Street, Fort Smith


Creekmore Park Train Rides
Who: All ages
What: The legendary miniature train at Creekmore Park will operate extended hours throughout the warm weather months. Visitors can take a ride around the scenic community park for only 25 cents. The steam engine will run 1-6 p.m. July 4.
When: 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday; 1-6 p.m. Sunday through Sept. 7
Where: Creekmore Park, Rogers Avenue and South 31st Street, Fort Smith


The Park at West End
Who: All ages
What: Known for its antique Ferris Wheel, The Park at West End is a popular attraction among both locals and tourists. The park will operate extended hours throughout the summer, offering rides on both the Ferris Wheel and hand-painted carousel. Guests also can grab a bite to eat in the West End Diner, which is housed in a refurbished 1950s Pullman railcar. Rides are only $1 per person. Cards good for 24 rides also can be purchased for $20.
