Kids: Libraries are set to Build a Better World this summer

Fort Smith Public Libraries
Build a Better World Summer Reading Program
It’s time again for the annual Summer Reading Program for children and teens. This year’s theme is Build a Better World. Visit your local library to enjoy books, videos, magazines, computers, music and special programs of all kinds. Any item you check out (books, CD, DVD, eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, digital titles, etc.), enables you to enter into weekly prize drawings for the chance to win great gift cards. The summer reading program is designed to encourage reading for pleasure; it will help young people who are able to read independently retain the valuable reading skills they developed over this past school year. Preschool children too young to read may also participate and will receive credit for the books read to them. Small rewards such as book bags, pencils, door hangers, cups, food coupons and the opportunity to get their name in a book will be given to each child for reaching specific goals. Registration begins June 1 at all four Fort Smith Public Library locations.
