A Moment with Nature and Soul Sisters on exhibit at the Center For Art & Education

March 4, 2018 - March 23, 2018
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

In the Main Gallery at the Center For Art & Education, artist Cindy Sugg’s “A Moment with Nature” will make you feel like you stepped into nature. Cindy enjoys the feelings and emotions when she is watching the trees and the clouds change, truly amazed at nature. Her landscape paintings take on a life of their own capturing a tiny amount of all that is around us. Cindy says “With the fast moving world, I hope to express tranquility and take you back to nature, a place to escape into.” In the Studio Gallery, enjoy “Soul Sisters” by artist Julie Mayser and artist Maggie Malloy. These artists were brought together for a reason and share a love for the outdoors, capturing nature on canvas, handmade surfaces or paper. Julie Mayser received her first art schooling at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois and has studied at CASC in Poteau, OK, and at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She has also studied with leading artist-teachers in the U.S. and Europe, continuing her art education into the present. Julie states “My reason for being a painter comes down to a few basics: My love of nature, the positive beautiful glimpses of life which surround us, and wanting to share these personal perceptions and joy with the viewer.” Maggie Malloy began her first art instruction in 2004 under Julie Mayser and has since furthered her training with art instructors through various workshops. Maggie says that family, friends, church work, and travel consume much of her time. Her art studio was added to her home in 2006 which she says “has proven to be a wise investment, always calling her to come in and play”. Artwork will be on display March 4 – 23 at the Center For Art & Education. The Opening Reception will be March 4 from 1 – 4 pm. Free event open to the public. Artwork for sale.
