Photography by Jim BarberSeptember 1, 2018 - October 31, 2018
The original photography of Jim Barber will be on display at Dewey’s Cafe at the Main Library during the months of September and October. Jim Barber, along with his family, moved to Fort Smith from Texas in 1996. Educated at Kansas State University, he has worked as a petroleum geologist for the last forty years, but he has always been drawn towards photography. This led him to join the Photographic Alliance of Fort Smith where he learned technique, composition, and photo post-processing from numerous local, exceptional photographers. He began photographing landscapes, nature, and still life, but he has expanded his subjects to include surreal black and white, as well as digital art. His hobby has continued to grow in earnest and he has exhibited his work in Fort Smith and Van Buren. His work is available in various sizes and mediums, such as classic matted prints, stretched canvas, or metal prints, and his photography now can be seen on the website JamesBarberFineArt.com. Artwork is available for viewing all hours the library is open.
