Mind Stretchers - Do Justice, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly - Islam and the Common Good

Over the course of three talks, we will look at the different perspectives of Islam, Christianity, and Buddhism, on the challenges of confronting our divisions. We will also discuss the teaching and practice of these traditions that lead us to an understanding of the common good and the work of reconciliation. Islam and the Common Good What is Islam? What does it say about the common good of all humans? How should American Muslims live and cooperate with their fellow Americans? Hamed Al-Alamat is the Imam (cleric) of Bentonville Islamic Center and a PhD Candidate in Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies at the U of ARK, Fayetteville.
