6th Duck Day in May and Family Festival

STEPS will hold its 6th Annual Duck Derby and Family Festival and its first Quack, Waddle and Run 5k and 1-mile Fun Run. May is Foster Care Awareness month. Proceeds support the mission of STEPS to serve families and children who are involved in the foster care system. Duck Day begins with a timed and chipped 5k and a 1-mile fun-run with 8 a.m. start. The Family Festival begins at 10 a.m. and includes free games and entertainment for all ages. At noon, rubber duckies hit the Lazy River at Parrot Island to race for big prize packages. $5 racing-duck adoption fee is an opportunity to win prize packages – and keep the duck! Parrot Island will open for swimming at 1 p.m. Swim is $10 for guests over 48”, $5 under 48”.  $5 special rate for foster families who check in with proof of foster family status.  STEPS Family Resource Center is a 501c3 organization with a focus on helping families become strong and healthy. STEPS provides supervised visitation, safe exchange, parenting classes, anger management and self-esteem and counseling services.  Family Festival Duck Derby, free. $10 entry for adults for Fun Run. $25 race entry for Quack, Waddle and Run comes with t-shirt and goodie bag.
