Dennis McCann and Hannah Jeremiah Exhibition

The Center For Art & Education will host an opening reception for Dennis McCann and Hannah Jeremiah on August 2 from 1 - 4 PM. Dennis McCann's subject matter ranges from landscapes, houses, lawn chairs, signs, and figures and has a common theme of emphasizing strong sunlight and shadows to establish interesting compositions. His work has won awards in many regional and national exhibitions. Many private and corporate collections include his work. He is currently represented by Boswell Mourot Fine Art of Little Rock, AR.,Boswell Mourot Fine Art of Miami, FL., and Gallery Central of Hot Springs, AR. Hannah Jeremiah is interested in the way people view the world through the lens of their trauma and the way people organize their lives around these defining experiences. "This collection emerged during a time of healing by engaging in healing practices like EMDR, brain spotting, yoga, and meditation." says Hannah. "These practices release stored trauma energy out of the body. As a result, blocked out memories become articulated in my work, even as I draw my present reality. Trauma programming is carried through generations as we inherit the trauma of our ancestors, and eventually becomes imbedded in cultural patterns. I see my art practice as a way of engaging with my own trauma and that of my ancestors, creating space for it to find witness and become transformed." Join us for the opening reception and meet the artists to learn more about their creative process. The exhibition will be on display through August 28 at the Center For Art & Education, 104 North 13th, Van Buren, AR. Free and open to the public. Please wear mask and abide by social distancing guidelines. To arrange for a private or small group tour, call CAE at 479-474-7767.
